For over a year now, Arlen has been not feeling like himself. After fighting to be seen by a doctor (due to no insurance) he was able to get checked out and doctors kept telling him that he was fine and any tests that came back were okay too. The past several months, his health continued to decline and still had no answers.
On Saturday, December 15th, Arlen and Faye went to Great Falls to do some Christmas shopping. Before they could begin, Arlen became sick and Faye took him to the Emergency room in Great Falls. After less than four hours of testing and scans, they received the news that Arlen had cancer in his colon, liver, and spleen. They filled him with fluids, pain relievers, and he insisted upon going home.
On Monday, December 17th, an appointment was made for Arlen to be seen at the Sletten Cancer Institute in Great Falls for December 20th. At this appointment, they found that he was in stage 4 and there is no cure but can try to extend life with chemo. Nothing is clear until they do a liver biopsy on December 26th. They are traveling to Great Falls to stay at the Gift of Life on Christmas Day, as his appointment on the 26th is at 6:15 a.m.
Just since the 20th, Arlen has already gone to the Chester emergency room to receive fluids once on the 23rd and Faye is already thinking she is going to have to admit him when they get to Great Falls today. Not only are medical bills racking up, but Faye is unable to work her regular hours to stay by Arlen’s side and take him to appointments. Travel expenses and medications for pain and nausea also are rising. If you can help in any way possible, it would be much appreciated. Prayers are also requested. Thank you!
