Please Help Arlene Toy in Her Battle with Lung Disease
Arlene is one of the kindest and nicest people you would ever meet. She always seems to be helping someone. When her Dad was aging and needed a hand, she gave up her previous life, moved in and took amazing care of him for years; until his last breath. Now she needs our help. We all know someone suffering from a health problem; be it a friend, family member or other loved one. Well, Arlene is suffering from a particularly insidious disease. Pulmonary Fibrosis. In short, it is the growth of scar tissue in the lungs that slowly (over three to five years - to the end) cuts off your ability to breathe. Imagine the not being able to walk across the room without getting winded or having the feeling that you are drowning all the time and can't breathe. A horrible feeling. So far, the traditional medical community has no idea what causes this or what cures it. The only thing they suggest for a "cure" is a lung transplant. Not a great quality of life option and VERY expensive. However, there are "alternative" therapies that offer some hope. But, of course, these treatments are not covered by insurance. Stem Cell therapy is one of these options but it is crazy expensive; like $40,000 expensive. There are some other non-insurance/non-traditional options but they are costly too; another $20,000 but some of them offer real hope when a traditional prognosis is not hopeful at all. Please, please, please. You might not know Arlene but I implore you to help my loved one have another chance at life. Even $20 can add up. You can be the one to make a huge difference in someone's life for the cost of a pizza. Please help us reach our goal of $60,000. Of all the people I have met in my life, no one deserves this help more than Arlene. Thank you and God Bless you.
