Arlo, Mack, & Simon Need Emergency Housing

Hi, my name is Mack and my roommate is Arlo (his cat is Simon!)

Our landlord had our home re-piped because the home had damaged galvanized piping. The plumbing crew trashed the house. They left metal solder all over our brand new dishes and they left major holes in our drywall. We were left without access to a toilet for a period of time and we still do not have a shower.

Arlo and I both needed to leave the home due to lack of access to a safe bathroom/kitchen and hazards in the home including exposure to metal solder in our kitchen and having to breathe fine particulate dust. The plumbing company was unable to satisfactorily clean the home to a safe standard.

The holes in our walls have not been repaired. I am including pictures of the damage in this post to help paint a picture of the damage to our home. The house will also need extensive electrical repairs. An electrician came to our house and told us that the electrical wiring is not up to code and that the wiring will need to be ripped out. Our landlord has been minimally responsive during this time....

To make a very long and frustrating story short, Arlo and I are unable to remain in our home right now. We are setting up this fundraising campaign to cover the cost of the hotel I have been staying at, the dishes the plumbers damaged, and additional expenses relating to being displaced from our home (a place to stay, food, potentially a new apartment).

UPDATE: Our spineless landlord issued a 20-day notice to vacate, making our situation dire. We are looking for urgent assistance so we can find an apartment and pay a lawyer.
