Arman's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
My name is Alina Karapetyan, I live in Los Angeles and work as a social worker. Working as a social worker I help many people in need and sadly this is the time that I need help from you, kind people. As my family is going through hard and desperate time, I have nothing but ask for help from those who can relate or simply those with kind hearts. My nephew, Arman Martirosyan, 12 years old, was born in Armenia with congenital heart disorder (one ventricle) and he was under follow up in cardiology center since his birthday. Few months ago, Arman was diagnosed with B-common acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The pediatric hematology department in Armenia never treated leukemia patients with congenital heart disorders, so treatment of this patient in Armenia was very risky. They don’t have pediatric ICU, don’t have pediatric cardiologists in that center, so it makes his treatment impossible.
Arman and his mom, Nona Isahakyan, traveled to Dusseldorf, Germany and fortunately Arman got accepted as a patient. Arman’s relatives donated 25,000 euro for the first stage of chemotherapy. There are two more stages to go. Arman needs 55,000 euros to complete his treatment. He has been struggling since his first day in this world and I hope with your help and with prayers, he will be able to battle the illness that he did not chose to have. I would like to include Arman’s mom’s letter to Dusseldorf’s hospital in order to be accepted to the hospital: “As mother who has lost her hope, I try to find the best way to save my son’s life. When our doctors said that my son has leukemia, the weight of the world crashed down upon me. After that I tried to find a clinic where pediatric patients with leukemia as well as with heart disorder can be treated. Please help my son to fight the cancer.”
Arman is so young and has so much he needs to do yet in his life. This is a struggle for all of us and we would appreciate any help or encouragement that can be offered. My family and I are truly thankful and do appreciate any help coming in.
