Disabled vet's war dog , Oso, critically ill

Donation protected
This is a photo of Oso, the war pup rescued from Afghanistan in 2009 by son-in-law, Sgt, Phil Bourrillion. He is an Iraq and Afghanistan combat veteran who saved Oso at 4 weeks old from a trash burn pit.  This little dog became his saving grace and they've been inseparable for almost 11 years now. This dog has never left his side as his rock and emotional support...you see both Oso and Phil struggle with the same war zone combat PTSD. So, they instinctively get what the other is going through and often hunker down together during storms, fireworks, and any stressful times that may cause emotions to be hard to handle for each of thems. Oso's relationship has been Phil's saving grace in times of struggle through the years… She literally saved his life last year. They are truly in every sense of the word, soulmates. Four days ago Oso fell ill with lethargy, coughing, and shallow breathing. This happened just days after her Papa left to spend time with his family out of state. His PTSD has been very hard on him lately. He tried to take her with him, but the VA would not help with the paperwork needing to be signed by the airlines. After he left she spent days looking for him and seemed down and then her health took an overnight turn for the worse. So, my daughter rushed her to the vet Friday and spent $660 on tests and over 3 hours looking her over with x-rays, lab work and reviewed her history of toxic mold exposure that affected their family last year as well. The money spent on Oso's vet bill was savings put aside for them to find another place to live soon, as the family has been homeless since January due to a toxic mold situation in their rental that deemed the entire contents of their apartment and belongings, uninhabitable  for human occupancy. Oso was highly affected by the mold exposure and had seizures due to this and now this latest lung condition that is been said to be very dangerous because the vet stated the amount of infiltration in her lungs is one of the worst cases he's seen. We are currently waiting on more results, but they said it's either some kind of fungal infection or she has lung cancer. They did offer a quicker, more definitive test via bronchoscopy where they go into her lungs and take tissue samples and sputum samples that will tell them exactly what she has going on. So we can move fast for saving her life. The problem is the cost to do this urgently is $6000 and they do not have the money to be able to authorize the vet for further treatment for 0so that she needs. Right now Oso is at home laying on Phil’s bed awaiting his quick return on Sunday to be with his sweet dog and she continues to have shallow breathing and all they can do at the moment is give her Broad-spectrum antifungals (which can often kill a dog within 24-72 hours due to the magnitude of inflammation the die off causes) along with prednisone. This dog has been a hero right along with Phil in so many incredible ways. Words cannot express what she has meant to him and always will. They are indebted to one another. A little over an hour ago Oso laid on the floor near Lena and she found blood on the floor where she had been coughing. Oso is getting worse as the hours pass and desperately needs help. They are completely utterly heartbroken with the thought they may lose her to some unknown illness that is going to go undiagnosed due to finances. This dog had taken the journey with him throughout the Afghanistan war. Oso has been his unyielding loyal companion throughout his PTSD war at home for years. She has been his healing friend.…please help us save Oso, or at the very least find out answers so we can give her the best chance at life or a peaceful passing. Please open your heart and help her in any way possible for you. With love to you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart if you can help financially or just spread the word to everybody you can think of that might be able to help in any way. Bless your hearts and thank you-sincerely yours ~ Gina Wright on behalf of Phil, Lena and 0so
