Arroyo's Fine Jewelry Fundraiser

Donation protected
On Wednesday morning, July 24 2019, Arroyo's Fine Jewelers - a downtown Ventura pillar of over 2 decades owned by Jesus Arroyo - was robbed. The burglars violently attacked the employee on shift, Jesus' best friend Alfredo Cardoza, by brutally hitting him with a gun, blindfolding and tying him up at gunpoint. They ransacked the business for what Jesus estimates is around $1 million dollars. The violation and psychological damage is beyond measure. You can read a brief story of the event here .

We are asking for the community to band together in order to support a local business and the man behind it who many can attest is one of the most kind and genuine human beings in the city. Jesus and Alfredo are always friendly, giving, humble, and engaging to every person they encounter. Time after time Jesus has helped out his neighbors, the downtrodden, and all who have asked while expecting nothing in return. What Jesus and Alfredo need now is the support and love of a community that they have invested so much into.

Here is how you can help:

*Donate any amount. Jesus lost everything in this harrowing event, and his business as well as his family's livelihood is now dire. There is no amount too small.
*Buy from Arroyo. The business is in the process of immediately trying to recoup income lost. Anything helps.
*Extend your well-wishes, prayers, encouragement, etc to Jesus and Alfredo. Make them aware that the people in the area care about something like this, even if you have no personal connection to the shop.
*If you have any information about this event - if you saw or heard anything or are a business in downtown Ventura that may have useful video footage - please contact the police department immediately. The investigation is still open and the criminals remain at large with no real leads.

All the proceeds will go directly to Arroyo's Fine Jeweler's to begin the rebuilding of the business - inventory, damages, business expenses, etc. We do not expect an overnight turnaround but we are hoping to keep Arroyo on his feet due to your kindness. Help is needed immediately!

If you have reached this page and are from the Ventura area, please share in this burden with us - an awful, unacceptable act has happened in your city and in choosing to engage in the healing process of it, you are making the community stronger and more beautiful. Thank you so much for your support.
