My name is Steven Williams . I am the grandfather of Baby Owen Alex Arsenault .On October 3rd ,2023 Owen was born at the Moncton Hospital . Owen was transferred from Labour and delivery to NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ) for a number of things but the major issue is he is unable to breath on his own . Normally the lungs start to improve in a few days .After countless test and treatments (Cpap , MRI, X-rays, blood transfusions and multiple blood test) nothing has changed . It has been 10 days and still no luck . Today little Owen is being airlifted to the IWK . The IWK is the best place for him .Parents - Luc and Samara Arsenault are awesome parents . Owens brother Oliver is 1 year and a half . Although we are all happy to see Owen finally getting the help he needs at the IWK hospital this will come with a cost to the family .Your support can ease the stress while they are waiting for Owen to get better .They need your help . Update: The cardiologist found a hole in the bottom of Owens heart which was allowing too much blood to flow into his lungs, the cardiologist said it was pretty big and will require open heart surgery.

He was put on medication to help for the time being, that should make it so less blood flows to his lungs. They are unsure if his breathing will improve with this medication so we need to wait and see if there’s any improvement over the next few days/weeks. As of now Owen remains on the CPAP and is still not able to breath on his own. He is being closely monitored by the amazing IWK NICU nurses and doctors.
