Arson Fire Family Loses Everything

Let us come together and attempt to bring back a lifetime of loss. In times like these the love and assistance of others is exactly what this family needs. Hello, Im Savannah. I am Joe's eldest grandchild out of 5. On August 2,2020 my 70 year old grandfather & his wife lost their home of 25 plus years. My mother and her partner where also living in the home. As well, my grandfather has recently gotten custody of my six year old cousin who had been living with them now for about 2 years. They managed to get out of the house alive and safe, Thank god. Unfortunately, My family lost everything they owned. My grandfather lost his life's work. My cousin lost the only place she called home. My mother who was also recently starting over had lost everything she had managed to keep or work for. When the fire started my mother has woken up by her amazing dog. Heard the door of the motor home slam shut outside, and watched someone run away. She instantly ran and woke up my Grandfather and his wife, as well as the girls and got them out of the house. At this moment there was 2 young girls in the home as my cousin had a sleepover with her friend. My mom then ran back to her room to save 7 newborn kittens, 2 dogs, and try to find the 2 adult cats.  On August 2, 2020 in Hedley, British Columbia which is just off highway 3 that runs to Vancouver a motor-home that was on the backside of the house was lit on fire. It proceeded to blow up in flames catching the back of the house on fire, within what is estimated to be about 30 minutes the entire house was engulfed in flames. It is suspected that Arson was to play and the suspect has been arrested by the Princeton, RCMP. Thankfully everyone in my family was out safely. Unfortunately, they were unable to grab any sentimental items, clothing, important documents, wallets or any necessities such as my grandfathers medications for his diabetes and brain injury.  According to my mother, My grandfather had recently tried to get house insurance after being denied a lot in the prior years. He was told that the house was too old, the fire department was too small, and they would not be willing to give him home insurance. My grandfather is the life of our family. He has been suffering a terrible mental health state for a few years and this was everything he had. He had owned and lived in this house for decades. It was fully paid off and a 100 year old Heritage House as well. Everything this man has worked for, all his memories, all of our families experiences and best moments were held in that home. He had built add-ons and upgrades inside the home to the washroom, his bedroom, and the laundry room. This was his home.  My Grandfather is on disability for his health issues including but not limited to Type 2 diabetes & a brain injury from a motorcycle collision a couple years ago. He cannot afford, nor can he handle starting over once again he left the house in a robe and sandals.  My mother who had moved in with them about a year ago to assist with my little cousin & help my grandfather also is currently awaiting disability for a back injury she sustained about 2 years ago where her vertebra was broken as well as a degenerative disk disease and a few other mental health problems. This is the second time my mother has watched a fire take everything she owned in her lifetime.  My little cousin is six years old. She had recently been signed over to my grandfather and my mother from the Ministry in BC.   Everything she had been given from her parents and other family members is now gone, including her special teddy.  The only left standing was a rock wall in his bedroom.  I am making this Go Fund Me to pull people together and hopefully restore some of what was lost. Mainly this money will be used to clean up the property and rebuild the home for my grandfather and my family. This is a tragic and devastating loss for my family and I do not know if we will ever be able to replace what we lost to this Arson.
