ARSUZ-HATAY EARTHQUAKE FUND
Donation protected
On February 6, 2023, a devastating earthquake magnitude of 7.8 followed by 7.4 struck our hometown of Arsuz in the Hatay region of Turkey. This disaster was part of an earthquake that affected southeast Turkey and Syria, causing widespread damage and affecting over 15 million people. The earthquake was one of the deadliest in the country's history, with thousands of casualties reported and the toll still rising as the rescue teams have only been able to reach a small proportion of the ruined buildings.
The impact of this disaster is devastating, as many families, including ours, have been left homeless or are currently sleeping in their cars. Many others are trapped in the rubble, struggling to survive in the aftermath of this natural disaster; trying to make noise hoping to be saved. The affected regions, including Hatay, Antakya, Maraş, Antep, Diyarbakır, Malatya, Osmaniye, Adana, Adıyaman, and Urfa, have been heavily impacted and require immediate assistance.
We are reaching out to you today to call for support. Considering the width of the destruction, we want to focus on our hometown and distribute firsthand help to the families who have been affected by this disaster.
Any donations received will be distributed directly to the affected families in Arsuz, Hatay region, and will be used to provide them with the support they need to recover from this tragedy, and rebuild their lives.
I thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity, and for considering supporting those affected by this devastating earthquake.
