Debut Album Fundraiser: Art Baden
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Art Baden. I am a 25yo tenor saxophonist, composer, and educator based in Los Angeles, originally from Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
I'm fundraising for the recording of my debut album. This recording is going to be my first step as a professional musician after I graduate with a Master of Music degree from the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance in June this year.
I started working on the music for this album back in 2020 when the pandemic began. Since then, I've composed music reflecting aspects of contemporary life and am currently completing the scores and parts.
I'm scheduling this recording for late June/early July. The album will be featuring some of my favorite musicians and mentors - people I look up to (will be announced in one of the future updates). Unfortunately, self-funding an album recording is impossible for me. I've combined my parents' support with my personal savings to make headway, however, I still need an additional $5000 to fully cover the expenses and bring this project to completion.
I'm seeking help from the community to bring my music to life and share it with the world. All funds raised here will be allocated towards securing flight tickets for the musicians, compensating their artist fees, and providing hotel accommodations for the duration of the recording period.
It would truly mean the world to me to have your support! Any amount is greatly appreciated!
Much love,
Art.
Since picking up the saxophone at the age of 10, I have fallen in love with it and decided on pursuing music as a career. At the age of 17 I received a full scholarship to attend the Hanze Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen, Netherlands, and a year later, the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I received a Bachelor of Music degree. Throughout the years of studying, I was lucky to be under the mentorship of Ralph Peterson, Joe Locke, George Garzone, Tia Fuller, Frank Tiberi, Herbie Hancock, Billy Childs, and Dick Oatts. I am the ambassador of “Remy Saxophones”, the winner of Downbeat 43rd Annual Student Music Award in the Jazz Soloist category, and the 2019 Michael Brecker International Saxophone Competition third place holder.
