This GoFundMe page is dedicated to our beloved dad, Art Cooper!
Our dad = best friend & hero, Art Cooper, is an AWESOME human being, talented musician and Harley Davidson biker, who is loved by many. While driving home on the evening of July 7, 2021, he was involved in a tragic car accident which caused him to suffer a devastating spinal cord and respiratory injuries. After being hospitalized in ICU where he underwent several life-saving surgeries, he is currently recovering in an acute long-care hospital until he is stabilized enough to be transferred to a spinal rehabilitation facility for further treatment and care. Currently, he has very limited mobility and sensation in his upper and lower extremities, and he does not have enough muscle and nerve strength to stand on his own nor any real dexterity and use of hands. Fortunately, with the respiratory surgery, he is now able to talk again and breathe on his own without a ventilator.
We are very grateful for God’s grace and mercy that our father is alive! However, this unexpected and shocking event has been very stressful and devastating to our family. We pray and hope for the absolute best outcome for him (We believe he will heal and recover from this incident!), but we also know that his road to healing and recovery will take some time and may be an ongoing process, as he will need to undergo continued long-term therapy and rehabilitation. The treatments and rehab facility stays will cause a serious financial burden for him and our family.
We are appealing to you for your financial support so that we may continue to provide for our loved one’s ongoing rehabilitative care.
