Art for Autism: a Zine Fundraiser for Autism Awareness Month

Philanthropy in Crafting is an organization designed to provide the world with service through the creation of art.

What our fundraiser’s about:

Join us during this month to fundraise for the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by and for autistic people.

What you’re buying:

A zine is short for “magazine” or “fanzine,” referring to a small, self-published and often independently produced publication. For this fundraiser, we are selling an illustrated and in-color zine; the zine highlights the multifaceted disability that is autism. In the zine are illustrated scenarios, definitions and common misconceptions about autism, as well as resources available for learning more.

How to buy a zine:

The “Art for Autism” zines are $15, only available with a donation of at least $15 through GoFundMe; the donation will be directly sent to the ASAN. Donors are not limited to a maximum donation.

The ASAN’s Mission Statement:

The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities. We work to empower autistic people across the world to take control of our own lives and the future of our common community, and seek to organize the autistic community to ensure our voices are heard in the national conversation about us.
