Art installation SLOW x Ravens Temple
Donation protected
Support art that matters. A collaborative project between Estonian and American artists and possibly YOU.
When we are in a hurry, we tend to make poor decisions for ourselves, for nature. SLOW is a social sculpture, a call to collectively slow down through hand-made embroidery AND the first phase structure for Ravens Temple at Burning Man 2024.
SLOW contains 24 flags, crafted in communities around the world, 24 flagpoles, and 6 burnt trees to hold the space and remind us of the need to slow down from nature's perspective. Benches for contemplation and a maker station: a custom built shade structure where new flags are being stitched by the citizens of Black Rock City.
The maker station is placed on a 256 sq ft platform that is the first phase structure for Ravens Temple. The finalised temple is going to be placed at Ravens Landing art space and will be accessible for anyone to visit. More info about the art space: www.ravenslanding.org
SLOW is a Burning Man Honoraria recipient, but the grant only covers part of the costs that it takes to build and bring the art to the desert. We are very thankful for all the support.
