Art Lekkas Recovery

Donation protected

On the evening of Friday, March 31st, Art was headed to the gym for his nightly workout and on his way was struck by a truck. The driver turned left, directly into Art and his motorcycle, essentially T-boning him on his left side. Art was flung from his motorcycle into the shoulder of the road and took several hundred feet to stop. Art was able to tell bystanders his wife, Lauren's, number, who was then able to rush to the scene of the accident, near their home. Art was immediately stabilized and rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency orthopedic reconstruction surgery of his lower left leg, from his knee to his foot. Art is currently in the ICU being monitored and awaiting his next surgery with a vascular surgeon that will attempt to repair 2 of the 3 main veins in his foot, which are currently not working properly. Art will most likely be spending the next 2-3 weeks in the hospital and will have a long 4-6 month recovery with unknown permanent effects to his left leg.

These much needed funds will go directly to Art's family in the transition of his recovery and rehabilitation, while Art is unable to work.

I hope that you will keep Art and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
