Ongoing support for JD

Dear family and friends,

We are writing to organize support for our beloved JD. As you likely know, her son Arthur was killed earlier this year, and she is going through an agony of grieving, which is ongoing. Many of you have moved to support Julie through meals, hugs, donations, time spent at Arthur’s vigil, and so many other meaningful ways. I am writing to ask for your help in easing one particular part of this grieving process. Myself and a few friends are asking for people to support Julie by chipping in to cover her housing expenses through the end of the year.

Julie lives in the building where Arthur spent his teen years. His spirit and memories are indwelling. This building also holds JD’s, Julie's shoe repair business and source of livelihood. Julie has still been working some in the shop along with her dedicated staff, and it is challenging. Julie and her community are eternally grateful for the funds raised by the MealTrain, the offerings of support, flowers, love, meals. The monthly mortgage for both home and shop is $3500, and to cover this amount through December would require $17,500. We are hoping to generate some ease and space during this terrible time by covering that expense so that Julie can focus on healing, retain her housing, and keep the business of JD’s thriving.
