Artist and educator Shellyne Rodriguez

Shellyne Rodriguez was fired from her two adjunct teaching positions at CUNY Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts. This injustice was the result of right wing media pressure after a confrontation with a national pro life organization. CUNY Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts failed to protect and support Shellyne Rodriguez as she became the target of racist and misogynist right wing harassment and threats which put her life in danger. We share in your collective outrage by the attacks unleashed by the right wing media, and by the universities failure to take a courageous stand on key social justice issues while cosmetically claiming diversity, equity and inclusion.

This fund is organized by a committee of fellow educators, artists and community organizers who seek to provide material support to help Shellyne recover from the impact of this persecution. This go fund has been established with Shellyne’s consent.
