Artist Juliet Ehrlich's Artist in Residence Fund
Donation protected
"Friends of Juliet Ehrlich" are Louisville neighbors of Juliet who have joyously joined together to celebrate and help make possible the renowned sculptor's most recent award: Castle Hill's Ceramic Artist in Residence Program. Juliet has been awarded one of only two such positions and was chosen from a pool of sculptors from the United States and overseas, combined.
This singular opportunity to create new work in the artistic community of the Truro Center for the Arts, has been awarded to Juliet - Louisville's own Bas Relief expert and Master Potter. Juliet's work is displayed in many places around Louisville, including the first three stunning panels below Ed Hamilton, Jr.'s iconic Lincoln Memorial in Waterfront Park (2009). To learn more about her national and international awards, go to http://www.claybasrelief.info/artist.html.
Our Juliet is a 63 year old artist who gave up her local sculptor's studio several years ago to care for her ailing parents, as so many of us Baby Boomers have had to do.
Now, having fulfilled her family care-giving responsibilities, Juliet is presently facing the painful reality of increasingly limited private and corporate commissions as well as almost non-existent government endowments, and she finds herself needing our financial support to rejoin the wider productive artistic community at this time.
Anyone who has viewed Juliet's work knows they are in the presence of something truly extraordinary. We, who so appreciate her extraordinary talent, seek to share the privilege of helping Juliet enter this new phase of pursuing her creative artistic endeavors.
Juliet's participation in this unique three-month intensive opportunity is dependent upon outside funding as well as her modest (single mother) contribution. Funds will cover housing expenses in both Louisville and Truro, travel, artistic materials, freight, food and lost wages. We are excited about her new horizons and future contributions to the local and national art scene. We hope you will help us help her as soon as possible. Every dollar counts and will be applied directly to an expense. Let's give this award-winning artist a well-deserved "leg up." Go! #GoFundHer.
