Desperate artist, pleading for help!
No festivals or galleries.
Most of you have my original art hanging in your homes & offices and I appreciate your past support.
My family really enjoyed meeting all of you over the years & truly appreciate each and every one of you. I hope your still enjoying your work.
I never thought it would come to this and have never asked for help, so humbled.... I wouldn't even consider this if I didn't have kids
I'm a 62 year old artist with 2 kids aged 8 & 11 with a stay @ home mom.
My wife never learned to drive being from Stuttgart Germany were subways are readily available and driving privilege's are privilege's.
I was raised in a studio environment my entire life as my father was an artist as well. As you can imagine art was my whole life except for a Kenney shoe salesman for 1 year in 1975,that's it..
Living from hand to mouth for the last several months have made it stressful at times but we stuck it out. I will always do whatever it takes to be a Husband & Dad first, no mater what but now am asking for some human kindness..... Looking for employment is a challenge without my truck
My 2005 Tacoma that's been broken down for the past 10 months needs $4200 in emissions repairs, been renting a truck or biking from place to place ever since {no truck now}. We were forced to leave are rental in December as the landlord sold the property with only a 30 day notice and are now living in a commercial space
{my studio} with no shower and limited cooking. I applied for AHCCCS but was denied and already leaned on my family for help a few months back .
February and March are my busiest months of the year. with 0 income pushed me over the edge
How did this all come about? I invested my entire saving to clever national promoters that promised the world and gave little in return except take your funds. I invested several thousand dollars expecting great things and promises over the last 2 years witch never materialized from high end expo venues in New York, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, Santa Fe and San Diego.. Mostly the patrons at these venues were other artist on the lookout for new techniques.
Just need to get back on my feet, get a place and get my truck running. I'm on the edge, as I only have till May 31 before an eviction from my studio. I won't forget anyone that helps, I promise.....When things turn around I will do my best to give you art in return or pay it forward. Even a small amount would help..
