Arty comes to Switzerland – but it‘s a long way to go!

Hello dear friends, dear family and everyone who stumbled over this crowdfunding!

My dear Russian friend Arty who currently lives in Istanbul got accepted to the Fine Arts education program at HSLU Lucerne in Switzerland. That means they can finally escape from Turkey where they had visa problems and apply for a visa in Switzerland and start a life here.

That would be a big dream of theirs! After the war started they fled from Russia to Turkey. They can‘t go back to Russia because they would eventually have to join the military. Besides that they are queer and Russia has an anti LGBT-law that basically says queer people are terrorists. Going back to Russia would be extremely dangerous and therefore is no option.

So it’s great news that they were accepted to Lucerne‘s art university. But the journey is still long. The visa is not yet guaranteed and there are many costs on the way.

Here there is a list of costs we have to cover in order for them to finish the application process and start to embark in Lucerne.

Costs:

- 200 CHF application fee for studies

- 304 CHF health insurance coverage one year

- 10 CHF photographs for the government

- 50 CHF printing costs for the documents

- 300-400 CHF official notary and translation of the documents

- 3076 CHF study fee for two semesters at HSLU

- 600 CHF additional excursion costs for HSLU

- 150 CHF flight and travel costs from Istanbul to Switzerland

- 1000 CHF cover of rent and first weeks in Switzerland

- probably more for health insurance

= total of 5790 CHF

Hallo liebe Friends, liebe Familie und alle, die über dieses Crowdfunding gestolpert sind!

Meine liebe befreundete Person aus Russland, Arty, they lebt derzeit in Istanbul, wurde für das Fine Arts Education Programm an der HSLU Luzern in der Schweiz angenommen. Das bedeutet, dass they endlich aus der Türkei könnte, um ein Visum für die Schweiz zu beantragen und hier ein Leben zu beginnen. In der Türkei hatte they Visaprobleme.

Das wäre ein grosser Traum von Arty! Nach Kriegsbeginn ist they aus Russland in die Türkei geflohen. They kann nicht zurück nach Russland, weil they dann ins Militär eingezogen werden könnte. Ausserdem ist Arty queer, und in Russland gibt es ein Anti-LGBT-Gesetz, nach dem queere Menschen im Grunde genommen Terroristen sind. Eine Rückkehr nach Russland wäre extrem gefährlich und ist daher keine Option.

Deshalb ist es eine erfreuliche Nachricht, dass they an der Kunsthochschule in Luzern angenommen wurde! Aber die Reise ist noch lang. Das Visum ist noch nicht garantiert und es gibt viele Kosten auf dem Weg.

Die Kosten, die wir übernehmen müssen, damit das Bewerbungsverfahren abgeschlossen werden kann, sind unten aufgeführt.

- 200 CHF Anmeldegebühr für das Studium

- 304 CHF Krankenversicherung für ein Jahr

- 10 CHF Fotos für die Regierung

- 300-400 CHF offizieller Notar und Übersetzung der Dokumente

- 3076 CHF Studiengebühr für zwei Semester an der HSLU

- 600 CHF zusätzliche Exkursionskosten für die HSLU

- 150 CHF Flug- und Reisekosten von Istanbul in die Schweiz

- 1000 CHF Deckung der Miete und der ersten Wochen in der Schweiz

- wahrscheinlich mehr für die Krankenversicherung

= insgesamt 5790 Franken
