Arwen and Violet' s Journey

Donation protected
Arwen and Violet were in a terrible car accident Friday June 2, 2017, along with 4 other children (1 of the other children was their brother Matt) and 1 adult that was not related to Arwen, Violet, or Matt.
The accident was not good at all and has caused a life changing experience for this family.
Arwen who is 11 years old, remains unconscious. The most concerning thing now is the injuries to her brain. She has what's called a DAI. We won't know just how severe the damage to the brain is until she wakes up though. That goes along with the breaks to the sternum, ribs, finger, etc. The laceration to the liver seems to be healing.
Violet, who is 6 year old, has some major concerns. She has a level 5 laceration to the liver, but seems to be healing without any need for surgery so far. She has several fractured ribs, clavicle, sternum, wrist etc. The most concerning, and honestly the most heart breaking, is the damage to her spinal cord. We won't know the severity of that until she wakes up but so far it appears she has lost the use of her legs at this time. Time will tell, along with lots of tough rehab.
Matthew had a nasty cut on his forehead that unfortunately was down to the skull and is a few inches long. He also has fractures to his pelvis bone, other small cuts, bruises etc. He is doing much better though and has been released.
All of this to these bright and full of life babies. The family will face many financial challenges as bills begin to flow in. Please donate what you can to help the family with less financial  worries.
I am Jaime Nairn, a friend of Melissa, Arwen and Violet's mom. I was also Arwen' s teacher.  I currently live in Evans, Georgia which makes it possible for me to visit the girls often. I have started a Facebook page for the girls, Arwen Violet if you would like to follow their progress.  All money donated is going directly to the family as Melissa being named the beneficiary. Money raised will be used to assist with medical bills that will not be covered by insurance and family needs while Melissa stays by her daughter's side. The girls have a long road ahead of them. Violet will need extensive physical therapy and a wheelchair to fit her awesome style. Arwen, when she wakes, will need therapy as well. We will not know the extent of the damage to her brain until she wakes.
We thank you for any and all donations.
