Arya Jade’s Relapse of Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Donation protected
Hello. I am attempting to raise funds for Arya Jade and myself while we go through the paces of her relapsing from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
She was originally diagnosed in October 2021 with a case of high-risk AML, with genetic mutations. She underwent 4 cycles of chemo, going into remission after the first cycle, and then a full Bone Marrow Transplant in March of 2022. She proceeded to have no major complications for 9 months after the transplant but unfortunately relapsed by New Years.
Just 3 months shy of her 1-year mark. With her relapse comes more layers to the genetic mutation that caused her to be high-risk in the first place. At this point, her body has rejected the bone marrow transplant. The doctor plans to use chemo to hopefully put her into remission and then do a second bone marrow transplant.
She has started the chemo last week and it has already been such a heartache to see her go through the symptoms of the chemo and anticipate what she will have to endure again with the transplant.
I can only ask for any amount of generosity that can be spared. Living at the hospital, two hours away, has incurred extra costs that I didn’t even start to recover from when Arya relapsed. We lived away from home for 9 months and now we are at step one again. I do not know how long this leg of the journey will be. Having food delivered that Arya will eat when she is actually in the mood adds up. Also, there are limited means to accommodate preparing food for her in the Hosptial. Besides that, incidentals of not being home occurs. Along with travel expenses, and specific clothing and medical supplies that are accommodating to Arya’s sensory and medical needs. I am trying to work while I am in the Hosptial with her but the reality is that I am here to take care of her and it doesn’t leave adequate time to work for the amount of money that is needed to support us.
I thank you all for your consideration to help in any way that you can. I appreciate all of the support that you showed us during her 1st diagnosis. It is so difficult to go through this once, but to be back at the starting line a second time is even more trying and difficult. We appreciate your prayers and support.
