Andrew’s road to recovery ❤️‍

As a daughter to this amazing man, I feel it’s part of my purpose to provide him with comfort, strength, and stability at one of the most complicated and difficult times in his life. Not only is he the best dad, he is my best friend, mentor, and inspiration.

On December 2, 2023 my dad admitted himself into the hospital for ongoing back pain. With multiple tests, x-rays, and examinations multiple myeloma cancer was brought into our world.

He spent over 40 days in the Encology unit in Abbotsford hospital, as sick as he was as an absolute trooper. I sat beside him almost single day, through the bone marrow biopsy’s, multiple tests, blood draws, transfusions, specialist appointments.

This condition has completely changed his day-to-day life. Hearing “terminal cancer” shattered everyone’s world beyond belief. He is in a much better place than he was 8 months ago but we are still waiting for the opportunity for a stem cell transplant. If the doctors decide to choose him as a candidate .. he will require 24 hour care along with relocating within a certain distance from Vancouver General Hospital.

On October 5, we will be joining a fundraiser for multiple myeloma and doing a walk for 5k in White Rock, BC. All of his family members and close friends will be attending. This fundraiser has inspired me to start a personal fund for him in case he is needing to be admitted for a long amount of time again.

On Christmas morning I will be sending him all the funds we raise :)

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Here’s to a legend. ❤️
