A Service Dog for Maddie
Donation protected
When my daughter was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 2, I was heartbroken. I started her in therapy and it was suggested that a service dog could benefit her. I looked into groups and started fundraising for one of them. After a year of fundraising almost $11,000, a lawsuit was raised and it was revealed that they didn't train the dogs and I was paying for a puppy that would do her no good. I'm currently part of the lawsuit in order to try to reclaim the money I raised. But my daughter is still without the help she needs and I don't know when I'll get my money back, or if I ever will. I've decided to work closely with a trainer who specializes in service and therepy dogs, named Claire with Soul Dog Canine Education, and train our own service dog. We were lucky enough to get a fantastic puppy from Show Me Goldens. Max has been a wonderful addition and works hard with Claire. He loves spending time with Maddie. At almost 5 months old he's really taken to her well. Our new fundraising goal is $7,000 in order to cover the next 13 months of intensive training before he's able to take his public access test. Anything and everything helps, and if you can't donate, please please please share.
