Ash River Abandoned Dogs Rescue
Spende geschützt
I created this page to accept contributions that will be distributed among the many local folks and rescue organizations working to recover these abandoned dogs. To stay updated visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AshRiverDogsRescue
Around April 5, 2022, a group of at least 18 dogs - including 4 puppies - were abandoned along Ash River Trail between Orr and Kabetogama, MN south of Voyageurs National Park. A caring group of locals immediately started the process of recovering the dogs. The 4 puppies were rescued immediately and are in a shelter, some already in new homes. It quickly became evident that more caring people would be needed as the skittish dogs scattered as much as 40 miles from where they were first left, even across the border and into Canada. Locals continue to put out food to gain trust and monitor the dogs as they work to get close enough to capture them. Volunteer groups from The Retrievers, Lost K9 & Safe Hands Rescue have brought traps, people and other resources to help and - as of April 20 - 9 adult dogs have also been rescued and are with foster/rescue groups like Adopt A Husky Minnesota and BarkinQ Rescue Across the Globe .
Your contributions, large or small, are much appreciated. The pool of funds will be distributed to:
- Local folks for gas, food, etc. that they have used to start the recovery process
- Volunteer groups that have provided immense help in this recovery mission (The Retrievers, Lost K9, Safe Hands Rescue, Adopt A Husky Minnesota, BarkinQ Rescue Across the Globe)
Special thanks to Amanda Vogel for coordinating the various rescue groups and people that have been working on this for over 2 weeks. The remaining dogs have been seen as far south as Cusson, west of Littlefork, and north to International Falls and the border.
Thank you to the volunteers, and to YOU - the people who are contributing to fund this heroic effort to rescue these dogs and bring them to loving forever homes!
Please let me or Amanda know if you have any questions or concerns! And thanks again!
