Important Request
---------------------
I would humbly request you all to be generous in your contributions. Let's stand together for the voiceless. Your generosity is their future.

Hello There,
My name is Sudhir Ganti and I am a co-founder of Asha Animals which is a street animal trauma shelter in Chevella, Hyderabad in India.
This journey started a few years ago when my good friend Dr.Manish Gour and I were discussing about Hyderabad not having enough number of proper trauma rehab for street animals. There are a few splinter NGO's operating but the quantity of these institutions and the depth at which they operate is very less. Hyderabad is set to take over from Bangalore as the Software Capital very soon. Bangalore has some excellent shelters/treatment centers for street animals like CUPA, CARE etc. I actually met the founders of CUPA and CARE on my last visit and got a lot of guidance, advice and promise of ongoing support from them. They all said the same thing, that they were surprised Hyderabad does not have a proper “Trauma treatment” facility for street animals. We do have “rescue” shelters like PFA and others but none to scale and sophistication of what is needed.
Imagine , a dog wandering the roads of Hyderabad, a speeding car goes over its leg and then takes off, think of the plight of the dog , and now close your eyes and imagine that dog is your own pet…

A year ago, I decided to use my own small plot which is located very close to the freeway. But realizing I needed a bigger lot, I had to acquire a bigger chunk. And to be very candid, after 2 years of acquiring land and construction costs , I have completely exhausted my savings . Thank you to some donors like Dr.Manish Gour and others , it has come to this stage.

We appeal to folks like yourself to help us get this up and going , it’s a long road from here but all it needs is a little pebbles of help from each of you to make it a mountain.

Really appreciate whatever you can do to help and I encourage you all to reach out to the wealthiest Indian diaspora in the USA, hope they can loosen their purse strings for this heartfelt project which is agnostic to religion, caste, race, nationality.

Link to the current state of construction.

Our target funding to get operational is $50,000 USD.

Below is the list of stuff that we will be spending this money towards...

1. Pending Construction work
a. internal fencing to create mini-fenced shelters.
b. Cover for the animals in 45 degree summer Hyderabad weather.
c. Operation theater room
d. Kitchen for animals food cooking (kitchen for people already constructed)
2. Appliances and Furniture for facility
a. Refrigrators
b. Large Desert coolers for animals
c. Freezers for food storage
c. Utensils
d. Furniture like cupboards, benches, desks etc.
e. CCTV cameras for whole facility
3. Solar lighting and Inverters
Given the fact that there are a lot of power cuts in Hyderabad in the summer months.
4. Hiring of Key personnel
a. 2 full-time on premise staff (para-vets)
b. Watchman (this person is already hired and lives on-premise with his family)
c. Visiting Veterinarian
d. Initial surgery's will probably be performed externally and then we will bring the aninmals here for rehabilitation. Once our Operation Theater is up and functional, we can perform the surgeries here.
The salaries will be an on-going monthly charge for paying the staff. After 3 years of operations, we can apply for CSR funding from Corporations for on-going monthly maintenance but till then we have to use private donations.
5. Miscellaneous items
for e.g. I have purchased an ambulance 3 years ago and gave it to an NGO for rescuing street animals. They have returned it to me for Asha Animals shelter. we would need 1 more ambulance and also the operating cost of petrol , driver etc.

We will keep adding to this list and ensure that there is complete transparency of how the funds are being utilized. The website is in-progress and we will update the link here once it's ready for public viewing.

Thanks again and god bless you all for reading through this and helping out.
