Ashanti Murray and Family

Hi my name is Kristine Ristow and I would like to help raise funds for Ashanti Murray and her Family. Please, if you are able to donate anything large or small will help to help ease the financial burden this is taking on them with the actual hospital bills yet to come.

Through the eyes of her mom Cynthia this is the journey that Ashanti has been through:

Our nightmare began on December 21, 2022. My youngest daughter started a fever and said she wasn’t feeling well. From there it turned into chest pain and back pain. On December 27th my daughter was admitted into the hospital. Twenty-one days later and she’s still in the hospital and now in the Intensive Care Unit.

It’s been an emotional roller coaster of tears, fear and pain for my entire family and close friends of ours and hers. I’ve watched my 17 year old daughter stay strong and endure more pain and suffering than anyone should ever have to. I’ve seen her cry in pain because of the severe chest pain she gets when she can’t breathe. I’ve seen her panic as she gasp for air while already having oxygen on, but her oxygen stats still drop as low as the 60s. I’ve seen her suffer 103.6 fevers and struggling to keep the fever down. I’ve seen her vomit several times from the medication she has to take for this fungal infection Blastomycosis through an IV. Her electrolytes have been depleted…her potassium has dropped as low as 2.6. Her body has swelled with fluid from her feet to her legs, stomach and back from lack of protein. Fluid has seeped into and around her lungs. Her body has ached in pain even while she sleeps in her hospital bed. She has had to endure blood transfusions because her hemoglobin has been too low. She has to have constant labs drawn and IVs replaced. She’s had to have several X-ray’s, ultrasounds, CT scans and MRI’s. She might have one good day here and there and gets her hopes up to go home soon and then is only let down by taking ten steps backwards. I’ve seen her cry asking why is this happening and why does she have to go through this? My heart has been breaking so much watching her endure all of this, that I can feel my chest literally hurting. My baby girl has been through hell and back and is still fighting to get better! I know she will make it through this because she is a fighter! She is a strong and determined individual! She is my daughter and just like all of my children, they are strong individuals who overcome everything and anything!

This has taken a toll on all of my family, but has also brought us closer together and made us stronger. Even through all of this Ashanti has maintained her sense of humor, her beautiful smile and her caring personality. Even though she’s going through all of this pain and suffering she’s still worries about her family and friends outside of these hospital walls and wanting to make sure that they are okay. Please include Ashanti Murray in your prayers and positive thoughts and energies tonight as she sleeps and let’s manifest her good health and well being. Ashanti will be free of pain, she will breathe on her own, she will be active again and she will come home to all of those who love her ❤️
