Ashanti needs your help!

Dear family and friends,

I fell like it's weird to write one of these for yourself, but I'm just gonna do it so nobody else has to take on the tax liability:

On Saturday, August 20th after hosting the Drum & Bass Park Sessions in Pier Park, at about 9:30 pm I was heading home to my wife and kids when I was hit & ran as I headed down Cesar Chavez Blvd... Just as I crossed Ogden St. I was struck on driver-side (T-Boned) by a driver in a stolen car who was being chased by police, sending me hurtling into a stop sign across the intersection. After that, the driver fled the scene and paramedics had to cut me out of my once-beautiful Fire Engine Red Empala :'( ... The suspect was apprehended a few blocks away, police said they had backed off of him and were following him by airplane... They were going to deploy spike strips, but were afraid of causing more damage and they thought he might just slow down eventually... they stated that he is 21 years-old and this is the 3rd time he's "done this".

Anyway, I was rushed to OHSU... I have suffered 3 fractures to my Pelvis (Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch), a break in my left Scapula (shoulder blade), my Clavicle (Collarbone) and multiple rib fractures (I can't breathe!). At this point I am still hospitalized. Thankfully, it does not look like I will need surgery.

My prized 2010 Empala is absolutely totaled and I only had liability insurance, so the likelihood of receiving any money for that is pretty slim. I also had my Bose S1's and my Pioneer 400 Controller in the trunk... They look pretty toast, but I'll try to send them in to see what can be done about them.

It's looking like I will be out of work for approximately 8 weeks. I think I have about 200 hrs of Sick time and PTO saved up, so I'm not gonna die automatically, but would apprecate any help the community can muster to alleviate all this chaos. I have health insurance, but I'm already seeing out-of-pocket medical expenses for things like a wheelchair and walker and bathroom navigation stuff start to creep up and I have no idea what the end expenses will look like.

Y'all know I've dedicated my life to helping folks out, whether that be through facilitating music events, doing outreach for people without homes, helping people get the resources they need, or just being a non-judgemental ear.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Anything I get over what I need, you can be assured I will get it to someone who truly needs it.
