Asha’s trip to SHE Rescue Home Cambodia 2025
Donation protected
Hi - I’m Asha
In July 2025, I will be joining a group of people to go to the SHE Rescue Home in Cambodia for 10 days. I had the blessing to go last year with a group from my church and it was the greatest honour.
I will explain in more details further down but I thought I could share a testimony from last year first. While visiting the SHE Resue Home we got to share devotions and pray over the house mothers and team there. I had the privilege to pray for one of the social workers and she shared that one of the girls a week prior had asked to leave, when this happens the team’s response is to give them a week to think about it and to see if they still feel the same way. On the sixth day after the girl asked to leave our team visited the girls for the first time, we shared a devotion and did activities like crafts and games with them. We wanted them to feel comfortable with us and to feel loved. For a child who has gone through so much trauma all we wanted was for them to feel Gods love for them. The next day the social worker asked the girl how she felt, she said I want to stay, I feel loved here.
and that is why I so strongly believe in this, when someone askes me why I don’t just give them the amount of money it would cost to go to Cambodia instead of going I am reminded of this story. I am reminded that yes money could help but Gods love could change everything, if that means our team travels from Australia to show them that God loves them so much that He uses people from another country to prove to them His love, I will say yes every time.
so if you are able and willing I would be so grateful if you join with me by helping both financially and with your prayers.
if you would like to know more about the SHE Rescue Home and what we will be doing while over there here is a bit more information:
The SHE Rescue Home is a not-for-profit organisation run by Citipointe Church, which operates with the local authorities in Cambodia to rescue and provide a safe haven for young girls who have been trafficked. SHE Rescue Home not only provides safe housing - it also teaches the young girls and their families important life skills to support themselves, engages them in community, programs and activities and provides counselling and therapeutic supports.
The purpose of this trip is for me to be able to be a part of that support system for the women, young girls and families involved with the rescue home - along with providing support to the local community and churches.
I'm honoured to have the opportunity to meet with, and hear the stories of the young girls and their families that are a part of the SHE Rescue Home community.
I will be working to support myself to go on this journey - however, any contributions to the costs of travel and other associated funds would be so appreciated. any donations will go towards the costs of travel, accomodation, items and additional provisions that are being taken to the families who need them most.
thank you for ANY and all contributions
disclaimer: if I receive more funds than is needed for the trip, it will be donated to the SHE Recue Home
