AVL Bench Project is a citizen lead organization with the mission of improving the quality of bus stops. Benches are built to cost. Meaning no money is made from this project. Creation and installation is done by volunteers. Improvements to public transit are needed for the city of Asheville to meet its goals of equity and sustainability.
