Ash's top surgery
Donation protected
Hi my names Ash, I am 21 year old Transman. I'm hoping to get top surgery privately as it quicker than waiting for care via NHS.
I would like to go to Dr Miles Berry in a London clinic for my surgery, as he is the one I've researched and I'm happy with the most. Mr Berry contacted me and told me the cost this procedure is between £8000-£11,500. This includes staying the night in the clinic, medication and any other treatment needed after surgery.
I was referred to the NHS gender clinic in 2018. I have spoken to them in January 2025. They will continue my care on hormones and provide therapy to help get a gender dysphoria diagnosis which is needed for top surgery. As soon as I have the diagnosis and the money I will be able to get this life changing surgery.
To get top surgery through the NHS can be up to 10 years wait so privately is my best option.
I never thought I would ask for help or have to go through this but I would be utterly grateful for any support. My life would change if I can get this surgery.
For anyone who does know top surgery is the removal of the breast tissue and masculinization of a person’s chest. Many trans masculine people choose to get this surgery to help alleviate gender dysphoria.
Most people who are transgender/non-binary etc. wear a binder which is advised to be worn no more than 8 hours . I wear mine pretty much from when I wake up until when I go to bed, this could range between 10-14 hours. Sometimes i have worn it for a weekend as ive been out with people and do not feel comfortable taking it off.
Wearing a binder for so long for as many years can cause a lot of damage.
I'm not expecting to get anywhere near my target but even one pound would mean the world to me.
I'm trying to look forward in the future and I'm holding on for as much as I can <3 ️
