Lost Their Mom, Need Some Angels.

This last weekend a large amount of our family came to celebrate the life of my sweet cousin, Ashleigh Scala, who passed way too soon. She celebrated her 41st birthday last month. Her passing has left her husband (Bret) without not only a wife, but the mother of their daughters, ages (8) & (20), and a grandmother to their grandson who will be 2 in November. They are fortunate to have a large amount of family support, but they are going to need all the help they can get. As there is nothing that can replace coming home to “mom.” 

Ashleigh lived a vivacious life until 2019, when she found herself in a hospital in Denver waiting for a new liver & kidney. She received the dual organ transplant and this gave her a few more years with her family. She got to know the joy of a grandson. But the road to recovery was not easy and had many setbacks along the way. She is no longer fighting, but her family is as they find what their new normal is. They plan to move into a smaller place to help with expenses and their own mental health. Your support will go directly to helping Bret take care of his family, as they work to push through grief and he shoulders all the parental responsibilities.
