Ashley Gilden Cancer Support

My sister, Ashley Gilden, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroendocrine (NET) cancer in her pancreas and liver this week. She is still undergoing testing to determine if it has spread beyond the pancreas and liver. Because she’s been ill prior to her official diagnosis, she has exhausted her sick leave. She will qualify for FMLA, but it will be unpaid leave. In addition to the loss of income, she and her husband, Joe, are facing extensive medical bills and travel expense. Neuroendocrine cancer is very rare and she will be referred to Barnes for at least part of her treat. Other treatment options may require her to live separately from Joe and Eva, her 7 year old daughter, for the week following treatment due to the radioactive component of the treatment option.
