Ashley Henderson Memorial & Family Support Fund
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Ashley Shauntell Henderson, beloved family member and friend to many who are grieving her unexpected passing on November 17, 2020, at 34. Ashley was known for her positive outlook on life, upbeat nature, abundant energy and playful spirit. Ashley was also the loving mother of two wonderful young boys who are now facing the world without her.
Ashley’s parents Jimmy and Sherrie are big hearted, salt of the earth people for whom family is everything. Married for over forty years, they are a testament to the power of love, service, and devotion. Their warmth, joyfulness, kindness, and generosity of spirit are second to none. They are also no strangers to difficulty in life, having lost their first child in a tragic car accident just before his eighteenth birthday. With Ashley’s untimely passing, they have now lost both of their children.
While Ashley struggled with mental health issues, Jimmy and Sherrie provided a stable home environment for her sons Hayes and Dylan, now aged 9 and 10. Though they have been approaching and planning for retirement, Jimmy and Sherrie now find themselves needing to expand their work commitments in order to continue to care for their beautiful grandsons. Ashley's boys (her "son-shines," as she called them) were the light of her life. And they are Jimmy and Sherrie's heart and soul.
We are praying for the grace of God to give this beautiful family a break. Their hearts are broken and their world has been turned upside down. Jimmy and Sherrie are now faced with a tremendous challenge as they grieve the death of their daughter, continue to be the full-time caregivers of the boys and comfort them through this profound life-changing loss.
Our wish is that they be supported and held close through this impossibly difficult time. Beyond immediate funeral expenses, Jimmy and Sherrie now carry the full and ongoing financial responsibility for raising the boys.
We humbly invite your support in easing some of their financial burden. In honor of Ashley’s memory, your contribution goes toward the above expenses and the promise of Hayes' & Dylan's future. May it be bright and blessed, and may this family always know how deeply they are all loved.
