Hi everyone, my name is Mitchell Kowalski; I'm the fiance of Kayla Kirk, Ashley's sister. On August 17th, 2022 at around 3:00am, we received the devastating news that Ashley had tragically and unexpectedly passed away.. She was only 24 years old. Her family and loved ones are absolutely devastated by this loss.
I have never made a post on Gofundme or any kind of crowdfunding before, but all I know is that her family is struggling and needs help, as well as Ashley's loving husband Forrest. They are truly devastated, and I'm trying my best to have everyone be with each other right now.
Ashley was born on December 1st of 1997 in Schenectady, New York. Ashley was full of life, had a fiery personality, witty sense of humour and possessed amazing creative talent. She loved expressing herself through writing, music, and artwork. She made many friends, many memories, and had an amazing family who adored her. When I started dating Kayla and met Ashley, I really thought of her as my little sister. From the moment I met her, she was so loving and caring for me, and I'll never forget it. This family means everything to me.
No one was prepared for this to happen and thus, providing funds for Ashley's memorial services has been especially hard for everyone. I don't want Ashley's family to worry so much about the costs, but instead to be able to just come together as a family and grieve. There will be a memorial service in Savannah, Georgia where Ashley lived, as well as in Colonie, New York where she was born and raised. Her family would greatly appreciate any support you can give, including going to her memorials, whether you're a friend of hers in Georgia or a friend or family member of hers in New York.
Any support or donations at all would be greatly appreciated, and I will be updating this post of the dates, time and places of each memorial service for Ashley. This is just to help reimburse the costs and help fund the family to travel to Georgia, to be able to attend to Ashley's service. Ashley was going to be my official sister in law, and I've known her for so many years, and I can't stress enough how devastating this has been to her whole family. If there's anything I learned from this, is that you should always embrace life for what it is, including your loved ones, because you never know when you won't be able to see them again.
To Kayla's parents, I love you both so much, and you both mean the world to me; I'm so sorry for your loss. From the moment I met you guys, you've treated me, as well as insisted that I was your family, and I'm so proud to be a part of it.
To Forrest, I'm really sorry for your loss, but just know that you're our family now too, and we will always be there for you if you ever need us; please remember that. I can't even imagine how difficult this has been for you.
Thank you for reading,
