Ashley Schumacher's Trip for Opera Lucca in Italy

Hello! My name is Ashley Schumacher, and I am a soprano currently studying at Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. For years, my dream has been to sing opera on the big stage, and I am finally given the opportunity to do that this summer! I am so pleased to announce that I will sing the part of Nella in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini. This is a month long program and I will be there from June 8th - July 7th! Along with singing this role, the program also includes singing in an Opera Scenes program, taking intensive Italian language classes every day, and working with professional coaches and teachers from around the country and the world. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be fully enveloped in Italian culture, working with professionals, and collaborating with other artists worldwide. Having this opportunity would significantly help me to further my career and education in performing and singing.

The issue that I am finding to be the most difficult is financial. As a graduate student, I am paying tuition and rent while I'm in Baltimore, and since I'm working over the summer to earn money for tuition and rent next year, I'm struggling to find the funds to finance this trip.

Any funds I receive will go towards the tuition, plane tickets, and living expenses in Italy.

I would be so appreciative if you would consider helping fund me and get me to Italy this summer! When the time comes, I will provide pictures and videos of my experience and share my endeavors with all who contribute!
