Ashley, Travis, Kenny & Hallie Grace Deegan

Hi, my name is Chelsea Strand and I am looking for some support for my close friend. Ashley Deegan has been my best friend for close to 10 years. For those of you who are fortunate enough to know Ashley & Travis, know that these are the most down to earth, kind-hearted individuals who would give you the shirts off their back. Three years ago, they were blessed with their first daughter, Kenny. She quickly became their world. Not only is she the most beautiful little girl, but she took right after her parents and is the most laid back, fun loving sweetheart you’ll ever come across. Everything was completely normal until Kenny became ill back in September of 2021, sick all the time, unexplained bruising and lethargy. She had to undergo several tests and it revealed that she had basically no platelets and would need to have further testing. After several iVIG treatments, a bone marrow biopsy and countless labs, it was decided that she has pediatric ITP or Immune thrombocytopenia purpura. This is a rare blood condition in which people do not have enough platelets in their blood. However, the treatments are not working and her bone marrow biopsy came back with no sign of cancer. Which is great news, but they still struggle with being in and out of the hospital. Ashley welcomed Hallie Grace into their family a few months ago and Kenny has just taken a turn for the worse. She is now down in St. Mary’s with pneumonia that has crept into her blood, making her septic. Not only is this mentally stressful but it has become a financial stress as well. Travis and Ashley both have had to and will continue to be out of work while taking care of Kenny and any medical bills and appointments that keep coming. They never ask for help, but they sure do need it now. I have seen pictures of Kenny while she is getting her treatments and she is all smiles, just waiting for it to be over. This baby needs help and support for her family. Even if it is just a few dollars or a prayer for the Deegan’s please reach out and help. There’s nothing they wouldn’t do for their friends and family and I would like to be able to help them in their time of need and have their only worry be on taking care of both of their babies.
