Ashley Winters’ Medical Bills & Fight Against AS

The family of Ashley Winters’ is fundraising to assist with Ashley’s medical bills and additional expenses.

Ashley was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), Systemic Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). AS is a rare disease where the cartilage in her spine, pelvis and hips deteriorates over time and is not curable.

On April 2, Ashley was admitted to the hospital by ambulance where she experienced a horrific flare up and developed gastrointestinal colitis. During her time in the hospital, her AS and RA have caused her not to be able to walk or get out of bed by herself and needs assistance to do so. Future treatment will consist of pain management and inpatient physical therapy to walk again. These treatments will only slow the progression of these diseases. The family will share updates on her progress while in the hospital and during inpatient therapy.

Since April 2, Ashley hasn’t been able to work and is on a medical leave of absence. Due to this, she cannot pay her living expenses, and now her medical bills. At this time, it is uncertain when she will be able to make a full return to work. Ashley is a veterinary technician, who loves her job along with the people and the animals she works with.
