Ashley, young mother with stage 4 breast cancer

Hello All,

We are raising money to support Ashley Dearing as we learned she was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast and liver cancer. Ashley and Peter Dearing have two young daughters, Piper (4) and Peyton (2). Ashley is a stay-at-home mom to the two little girls, and Peter is the Executive Director for Common House Worship. Peter is one of the founding Pastors of Common House Worship which only started two years ago and has rapidly grown to 150 members. He has been trying to manage the new church and this family crisis.

Ashley noticed a lump on her left breast, which, following an ultrasound and biopsy, was initially thought to be stage 2 cancer. Ashley’s doctor ordered an MRI and PET scan at the last second. Typically, these tests don’t get approved for stage 2 cancers, but by the grace of God, they were approved and performed. The PET scan showed that cancer had metastasized to Ashley’s liver, and, instead of having a breast removed for low-stage breast cancer, she learned that she has stage 4 cancer and a long road of medical needs in the future. Because the cancer is estrogen-fed, Ashley will now undergo a hysterectomy to remove her ovaries, and chemotherapy is being scheduled. The couple’s insurance is minimal and would not cover any tests without payment in advance. Ashley and Peter are looking at MD Anderson and Mayo for treatment.

Despite this devastating news, Ashley continues to be the emotional rock of her family. Peter, their family, and friends remain hopeful. Please pray for this family.
