Ashley's Home and Heros

I have a dear close friend who has a daughter with Rett Syndrom Paula Dickson. Her daughter Ashley is now 26 years old.  Paula has devoted her entire life to her.  Ashley has many health complications and Paula has been unable to work full time due to having to care for her.   3 years ago Ashley's dad walked away from the family due to a drug problem, Paula was left without any income and he left her with no money. He had her power and gas shut off and 3 years ago last week she was locked out of her home due to foreclosure because he had stopped making the house payment. She and Ashley have been living in her mother's living room since.  Ashley is in and out of the hospital on a monthly basis.  Paula is such a positive person and truly is a real life super hero. The court would not grant her child support for her Ashley due to the fact that she was over the age of 18 so all of the cost of her cares falls directly on to Paula. She has a lot of family support but right now what she needs is a home of her own to be able to properly care for Ashley and money to afford her hotel stays when her daughter is here in the Salt Lake area at the University of Utah. They live in Carbon County which is about 2.5 hours away from the hospital. This gets very expensive very quickly.  Every little bit helps and I don't know a single person who deserves our help more than Paula.
