Helping Ellis, Adieline and Ashley
Donation protected
Friends and family, it is with a broken heart that we create this page. As many of you know, our beautiful Steven Allen Ridge, suffered a heart attack on Saturday, January 13th at the young age of 41. After spending many sleepless nights meeting with the trauma team and the tremendous staff of doctors, cardiologists, and neurologists at University Medical Center in New Orleans, it was made clear to us that there would be no recovery from this unbelievable and far-too-soon tragedy. He passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 21st with Ashley and his mother Brenda by his side, friends and family surrounding him.
We have been searching for a blessing during this entire impossible week, and if there can be one, it is that his beautiful life will help save another. It is with great pride we are able to share that Steven was registered as a donor. Upon his passing, the team at University Medical Center began the process of finding matches for his gifts, just as he wanted.
The most tragic part of our Steven’s passing is his leaving behind Ashley, Ellis Van Allen Ridge (2) and Adieline Mae Ridge (6 months). It is our hope that donations, no matter the amount, can help ease the financial burden for three beautiful souls for the near future. Sadly, he was without life insurance. And any amount will go toward covering the considerable medical costs of Steven’s time in ICU, help provide financial assistance to Ashley over the next six months, and establish a financial foundation for Ellis Van Allen Ridge and Adieline Mae Ridge to have the brightest possible futures.
This is the hardest thing any of us has ever been through. Steven touched hundreds of lives and there is no way we could keep going without each of your phone calls, your flowers, your text messages and offers to help. Each one of you are our angels and we are forever changed by your kindness and love.
From the depth of our whole hearts and with so much love, we thank you.
If you prefer to support Ashley directly, contact any one of us.
Sincerely,
Esa, Mark, Melissa, Nick and on behalf of Ashley, Ellis and Adieline
