#AshleysFight
Ashley Hamilton was born February 16, 1992. Ashley has been fighting her battle with cancer her entire life. In 1998, at the age of 6, Ashley was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. At that time, she had to undergo heavy chemotherapy and radiation. She also had to have a surgery that removed a part of her brain which made her lose 70% of her vision rendering her legally blind. Years later at the age of 13 Ashley found herself in yet another battle with cancer. In 2006, at the age of 13, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Ashley REFUSED to give up! Surgeons were forced to remove one of her ovaries and a small portion of her other ovary.
Ashley and her husband John know that God’s power is real. With less than one ovary, Ashley was informed that she was with child. Their beautiful daughter was conceived on Ashley’s 18th birthday. On October 31, 2010, Avery was born into this world without any complications.
Ashley’s battle was remarkable and for a short time, had been victorious over this vicious disease. In 2013, Ashley was informed that her new diagnosis was breast cancer. Yet again, Ashley REFUSED to give up! Ashley underwent double mastectomy followed by multiple reconstructive surgeries. Ashley went into remission for her breast cancer yet again, BEATING CANCER!
Ashley is not the only member of her immediate family that has had to fight cancer. On August 18, 2014 Ashley’s only sister lost her battle with Soft Tissue Sarcoma. Her sister was only 11 years old. Ashley’s sister had the same genetic disease that Ashley is currently diagnosed with. The disease is called Li-Faraumeni Syndrome (LFS).
Shortly after her sisters’ passing, Ashley’s’ mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Shortly after her mothers’ diagnosis, her grandfather, who she was very close with, passed away due to cancer in his esophagus. At same time, Ashley was diagnosed with a new brain tumor that was a result of the radiation treatment that she received when she was 6 years old. In essence, the treatment that had saved her life at the age of 6 was now the cause of her new brain tumor (Anaplastic Astrocytoma). Ashley’s current brain tumor is inoperable.
Update: We have now been told by her neuro-oncologist that there is nothing that can be done. We are beyond words.
ITS OUR TURN TO HELP ASHLEY FIGHT BACK!!!!!
Ashley’s family is struggling. They can’t keep up with the bills and her care. Her husband, John, cannot work full time due to the immense obligations he has when it comes to the numerous amount of doctors’ visits that Ashley is undergoing. Can you imagine what this family is going through?
We are asking EVERYONE that see’s this PLEASE DONATE AT LEAST $1. Our goal is to raise $250,000, but even that may not be enough. Time is of the essence! Please donate now!
We have updated the amount trying to get her treated at the Burzynski Clinic in Houston,TX which is over $45,000 just for the first treatment.
Avery is now 6 years old and knows there is something wrong with her mother and is scared she will die just like her niece did. She is acting out at home and in school, and she will need therapy for most, if not all her life.
