Ashley Rose benefit fund
Ashley Rose was born three weeks early to Brian Keppers and Cheryl Stansbury on November 4th 2014 via unexpected induction. At only 26 weeks gestation doctors discovered Ashley's heart defect which was found to be Truncus arteriosus (TRUNG-kus ahr-teer-e-O-sus) according to mayo clinics definition this means that one large blood vessel leads out of the heart. Normally, there are two separate vessels. In addition, the two lower chambers of the heart are missing a portion of the wall that divides them. As a result of truncus arteriosus, oxygen-poor blood that should go to the lungs and oxygen-rich blood that should go to the rest of the body are mixed together. This creates severe circulatory problems. While fighting this diagnosis Ashley's parents and seven siblings were able to utilize the Ronald Mcdonald house to minimize their two hour commute each way home. While being there for his daughter Brian worked full-time to suppost his family as well as serving his country as an outstanding sailor in the United States Navy Reserve. Thankfully for the Doctors best efforts they were able to fix Ashley's heart defects in surgery. However, Ashley's left ventricle was to weak after an 11 hour surgery and never regained strength. A heart transplant was out of the question seeing Ashley's heart was also backwards inside her chest. Ashley Rose was on life support for three weeks. With fading hope from the Doctors Ashley Rose passed away on December 13 2014 with her family by her side. All money raised will go to Ashley Rose's family to cover the cost of her funeral, outstanding medical bills and christmas gifts for Ashley's siblings.
