Ashley’s Hurricane Ian Relief Fund

My name is Chris Park and I am from Wilmington, Delaware. I am establishing this fund for my friend Ashley who survived Hurricane Ian.

Ashley’s home and surrounding neighborhood in Cape Coral was completely destroyed by

the 15 foot storm surge caused by Hurricane Ian. Below are pictures of Ashley’s home before the storm and the devastating aftermath caused by Hurricane Ian.

It is both bone-chilling and tear jerking to hear Ashley recount her harrowing experience to survive and the level of catastrophic devastation and loss of life that she witnessed. It’s clear that the universe has greater plans for Ashley because she managed to survive the storm through her own sheer will all while being alone on her own nonetheless. I will refrain disclosing details about the ordeal that Ashley went through out of respect for her privacy and sensitivity to the terrifying trauma she experienced.

Thankfully, Ashley is safe and physically unharmed. Ashley has filed claims for the total loss of her home and vehicle, but it will take quite a bit of time for her claims to be processed. Ashley is also waiting to determine if she will be able to receive emergency assistance. At present, Ashley is alone and separated from her family as the roads are impassable due to lingering floodwaters.
