Ashleys Expenses for a Liver Transplant&After Care
Donation protected
Hello Everyone, I’m Ashley Payne, a 36 year old single mother suffering from Liver Failure. I will soon be needing a liver transplant. I’m currently receiving all my medical care at The Liver/Kidney Department for Transplant at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. I have two liver diseases Autoimmune Hepatitis and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) .... I am currently Stage 4 Liver failure and will
Be going through the needed steps soon to receive a liver transplant.
I was diagnosed with a liver disease that has no cure or medication to help or control it which is the Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
Which is a chronic, or long-term, disease that slowly damages the bile ducts. Bile is a digestive liquid that is made in the liver. It travels through the bile ducts to the gallbladder and the small intestine, where it helps digest fats and fatty vitamins.
A liver transplant is the only
treatment known to cure primary sclerosing cholangitis. During a liver transplant, surgeons remove your diseased liver and replace it with a healthy liver from a donor.
When you have PSC, the immune system 'attacks' the bile ducts (these are the tubes that drain bile out of the liver into the bowel), causing hardening and narrowing (strictures) of the ducts.
These strictures make it harder for the bile to drain out.
This can lead to infection in the bile ducts and liver damage. Bile ducts are a tubular system which are inside the liver as well as some main tubes emerging outside the liver, and they drain bile.
I am raising money to cover expenses for my out of pocket portion I’m responsible for to
Proceed with a liver transplant.
After the procedure I will be out of work for an estimated 4 to 6 months. I’m raising money to Cover all my after care needs, my medication, my bills and to also be able to still provide for my son. My son name is Rashaud Payne. He is currently a senior in high school. East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, North Carolina. He is now weighing his options for which college to attend but wants to be able to travel and see me whenever the transplant happens. He’s ready to play sports in college level and ready to
Obtain a degree.
Please find it in your heart to donate what ever you desire. Big or small I will be very appreciative.
I want to thank everyone in advance for being a blessing on this journey.
I also have a cash app available for donations and PayPal
