Make Me a Master

They say it takes a village to raise a child. I'm using this motto to attempt the impossible. I was recently accepted to the IE University in Madrid, Spain to study a Masters in Visual and Digital Communications. The university is ranked #1 in Spain and #34 in the world. There are only 30-40 students enrolled per year in my specific program, so it was quite an honor to receive an invitation. The program is 10 months of intense learning. While figuring out how to fund my studies, I ran into a few road bumps.

1. My university doesn't qualify for the FAFSA program for federal student loans with the US government.

2. Sallie Mae will offer me a student loan, but at an 8% or higher (non-fixed) interest rate. I would end up paying back almost double what I need.

3. Regular banks aren't allowed to give private loans for student fees unless Sallie Mae rejects you. 

4. I already am repaying my $16,000 loan for my undergraduate studies. 

I was raised to be humble, however there are times when you have to admit that you need help. This is my case at the moment. With this fundraiser, you will not just be giving. I vow to repay all contributions within 10 years or less of my graduation from the program in June 2015. I prefer to repay my friends, family, and community members than to repay a loan through a company that doesn't care whether I succeed or not. Thanks in advance to those who donates to my cause!
