Ash's Fight for Life - Poisoned by Roommate

Donation protected
My son Matthew's former roommate, nearly killed his beloved dog, Ash. Below is the story told in my son's words.

"Just over a month ago, I came home to find my beloved dog and best friend, Ash, unconscious in a pool of his own vomit. I took him immediately to the veterinary office. Ash had a pulse of 40 beats per minute and a temperature of 104.9°F.
I was told to take him to the animal hospital immediately.

Upon arrival at the animal hospital, Ash was immediately put on oxygen and I.V.'s, as well as a heart monitor. After hours of not being able to diagnose the problem, he was taken into
X-ray. While he was in there, as I couldn't be with him, I checked my dog camera to see if anything strange had happened to him while I was at work. Scrubbing through footage I noticed Ash was perfectly fine, right up to the point he follows my former roommate into his room. Within 15 minutes Ash became obviously dizzy and unable to walk. Within minutes of that, Ash is vomiting up an incredibly large amount. At this point my former roommate gets my brand new towels out of the bathroom, cleans up the vomit, and proceeds to take them outside and bury them deep in the exterior trash bin. My roommate begins to act strange and proceeds to his room and changes his clothes, then comes back to the living room and starts demanding my dog go outside. You can visibly see Ash struggle to stand up and fall. At this point my roommate returned to his room for less than 2 minutes, and then proceeds out the front door, not even looking at my dog as he leaves.

This is about an hour before I come home to find Ash literally dying. At no point did my roommate call or text me to let me know what was happening to my dog. As I am watching the horror unfold before my eyes it becomes obvious what has happened - my dog had been poisoned. I let the hospital staff know what I have found on the footage. They immediately ask me if I have drugs in the house or if my roommate does. I told them that I definitely do not but I am not sure about my roommate. They also ask me if it's ok to perform CPR and to do a drug test on Ash. I told them anything to save Ash’s life. They do the test and as we are waiting, I watch in terror as Ash slips in and out of existence. He was revived 3 times.

The drug test revealed that Ash had been poisoned/overdosed on large quantities of Marijuana and Cocaine. My roommate knew he was dying and did nothing to help him, nor did he try to contact me. He just left my dog to die, all alone. The Vet said if I had arrived 20 minutes later, Ash would have been gone forever.

Luckily, Ash was able to be saved after staying overnight in the veterinary hospital. And by the great work of the Veterinary staff that helped him."

Unfortunately, this was a massive cost to my son. The veterinary bills amounted to over $5000. My son is on the verge of losing his home because of this and the situation his former roommate put him in, as he is now paying for everything by himself, all while he is looking for a new roommate with his savings nearly drained.

If you could please donate anything you can to help out in this tragic situation, we would be grateful.
