Hi all! I run a boarding facility for small pets (bunnies, guineas, hamsters, gerbils, tortoises etc) and alongside I run a small Guinea Pig Rescue. I am passionate about guineas and improving their quality of life!
We have been in operation for over 10 years and in that time have seen 100s of guinea pigs through our doors and have been able to successfully rehome them all except a few who retire with us here. (Our retirement wing!) I pay for the majority of the males to be neutered (£70 a time) so that they can be bonded with a girlfriend and have a chance of a brand new furever home! Some of the guineas that arrive are elderly or poorly and require expensive veterinary care - I never turn them away.
So, as you can imagine the costs of keeping the ill or retired guineas, the ongoing veterinary bills and the daily maintaining of a suitable environment are large. This is where you can come in and help! I really do need help funding the Rescue so I can continue to keep these gorgeous little furballs safe and find them new homes!
