Ashton Girls U15s dream of playing in Germany

Your local community-based football team Ashton Girls U15s needs your support to achieve their dream to play in Germany this Summer. The Team is part of Ashton FC, grassroots, voluntary run organisation, supporting girls & boys of all ages in the beautiful game.

Football is more than sport to these girls. It has improved their confidence, self-esteem, social and communication skills as well as fitness. Which has been more important than ever due to the negative impact of the pandemic.

Last year was the 75th anniversary of the twinning of cities Bristol & Hanover. This was celebrated by Polizei Sportverein Hannover e.V. (a grassroots football club based in Hanover), visiting Bristol to play matches against Ashton FC boys’ and the girls’ teams. This year the Germans will host a rematch in Hanover.

This is an amazing opportunity for the players. To make it happen, we need to raise funds to cover travel and accommodation costs. The girls are involved in various fund-raising activities for sponsorship: cake sale, raffle, fund raising events. I know everyone is feeling the pitch of the cost-of-living rise, but if you are able, please consider giving your support in a donation. All gratefully received and very much appreciated.
