We are running for Ashwell PTA!

We are Ashwell School parents. Ni is mum to Isla in Year 4. She also has 2 older daughters who both attended Ashwell Primary. Sophia, who is now in Year 10, and Eloise who is in Year 7. Laurence has Dan in Year 5 and Poppy who also attended Ashwell and is now in Year 7. We have a fantastic PTA at the school, which does amazing work, but like so many other charities, its fundraising has been massively affected by Covid-19. Last year a group of 20 parents and teachers ran a local 10 mile race and raised over £3000 for the school. We had a 20+ team all ready for this year but sadly the run has been cancelled due to the pandemic. So in a fit of either bravery or stupidity, Laurence and Ni have decided to run a marathon instead! We'll run the 26.2 miles of the Virtual London Marathon in and around Ashwell and the surrounding villages on Sunday October 4th. Whilst we've both run a couple of marathons before, this will be off the back of about 5 weeks of training (vs the usual 20 weeks), most of it crammed in before and after work (sometimes in the dark!). We are really not sure how we are going to do this without the usual water stations, cheering crowds and other paraphernalia that goes with an organised race so if you can, please sponsor us to give us the boost and motivation we need so we can raise some money for our lovely school.
