HELP US SUPPORT ASIAN YOUTH ENVIRONMENTALISTS
A month and a half ago, my friend Ha and I published an article on Medium regarding the lack of coverage of Asians in the environmental space. At the end of thepiece, we put in an ask for any Asian youth environmentalists to join us in centralizing the environmental movement in Asia. Within a few weeks, we received an enormous amount of interest from over 100 people living in 23 different countries! We've now created the Asian Environmental Youth Network, and we're hitting the ground running.
Over the past few weeks, we've realized there is a fundamental lack of social, financial, and governmental support in Asia's small-but-growing environmental space. So to continue on with our mission, we are creating a website and several other communication channels — newsletters, social media, other initiatives, etc — to continue bringing people together and to feature those amazing environmentalists already doing great work in Asia!
To fund those public spaces and to provide free resources for anyone to get involved, we could really use your help!!! We've set a goal for $200 USD now — any extra donations we receive that we don't need will be sent to other organizations supporting the Asian environmental movement.
We would be SO grateful for anything you have to give. We know this is an especially hard time for a lot of us right now, so any support you have to offer us is phenomenal. And, if you have young Asian friends who are passionate about the climate crisis (or you are one yourself), send them our way! Our sign-up survey can be found here!
